49ers rookie Nick Bosa took plenty of shots on Baker Mayfield on the field on Monday night, including showcasing a clever sack celebration mimicking Mayfield’s infamous planting of the flag at Ohio Stadium after his Sooner knocked off Bosa’s Buckeyes in 2017.
Boas had a few more shots for the Browns quarterback in the locker room after the game.
“He had it coming, but he didn’t say one word back” Bosa said of his celebration. “I was just screaming his name like ‘Baaaaker, Baaaaaker.’ You good? C’mon pick it up we want a challenge.”
Bosa was then asked about how off balance Mayfield was throughout the night.
“Yeah, I don’t how anyone thought he’d be able to see over Arek [Armstead] and Deforest Buckner, but he was panicking. He was double-clutching, rolling back and forth. We had him rattled all game.”

Bosa and company kept Mayfield running for his life throughout the night, compiling four sacks and eight total QB hits. Two of the sacks were made by Bosa. Mayfield’s struggles against San Francisco’s dominant D-line is evident in the box score where he finished a pedestrian eight-of-22 passing for 100 yards and two interceptions.
The former Ohio State Buckeye, Bosa, got the last laugh on Monday night with his celebration and just utter dominance of Mayfield. He may rep the scarlet and grey for life but his mocking of Mayfield and postgame comments probably won’t sit well with Browns fans who may have loved cheering for Bosa on Saturday’s.
