NFL Week 1 Power Rankings

  1. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS 1-0

Jameis Winston lit up the stat sheet and score board respectively against the Falcons in week 1. The Florida State product threw for 281 yards and 4 touchdowns in his sophomore premier in the NFL and to no surprise Mike Evans saw a majority of his targets. Evans ended the evening with 5 catches for 99 yards and a TD.

  1. NEW YORK GIANTS 1-0

Everyone loves a good comeback story. Victor Cruz saw his first action in nearly two years and was able to give the G-Men their go ahead score to seal the victory in week 1 over the Dallas Cowboys. Eli Manning threw for 3 TD’s and 1 INT on the day.

  1. DALLAS COWBOYS 0-1

Fourth-round selection Dak Prescott threw the ball 45 times in his rookie debut. In all the reports given briefly after Tony Romo’s back injury, the narrative seems to point that no matter what the record or body of work reflect, the Cowboys will hand the reigns back to Romo once he is cleared. I say, let the chemistry develop with the young guy and continue to feed Ezekiel Elliot. (O-H!)

  1. DETROIT LIONS 1-0

Matthew Stafford – 31/39 x 340 yards x 3 TD

If you’re a Lions fan there seems to be a glimmer of hope that Stafford can keep this stellar performance and roll right into week 2 and have strong outing against the Titans at home.

  1. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES 1-0

From 3rd string QB to opening day starter, the No. 2 overall pick saw his first action against the Cleveland Browns and did not disappoint. Carson Wentz had a field day with Swiss-cheese like defense provided by Cleveland. The stats are there, the poise in the pocket is well documented on tape and the rookie QB found an early connection with Jordan Matthews who was battling back from injury this offseason. (Matthews – 7 catches for 114 yards.)
