The NFL Draft is still 66 days away, but already there’s plenty of mock drafts and projections as to what teams are going to do once Roger Goodell takes the platform in Nashville, Tennessee and gets booed as he does every year.
The Browns are sitting at number 17 in the first round, and overall have 10 draft choices to try and improve on their team and make a run at the 2019 AFC North Title.
Cleveland has all of their picks in the first six rounds along with a third-rounder from New England (Danny Shelton trade), fifth-rounders from New England (Josh Gordon) and Jacksonville (Carlos Hyde) and a seventh-rounder from Jacksonville (Cody Kessler).
As far as projections go, SB Nation today released their first Mock Draft for April’s big event, and they have the Browns going cornerback in round one, taking Greedy Williams from LSU to pair up with last year’s first round pick in Denzel Ward.
Here’s what SB Nation has to say about Williams going to the Browns:
Cornerback might not seem like a question mark for the Browns after taking Denzel Ward at No. 4 last year and adding some veterans like Terrance Mitchell and T.J. Carrie. But consider that Ward is coming off two concussions at the end of last season, Mitchell had a broken arm, and Carrie was just average.
The team will also have to make a decision on slot corner Briean Boddy-Calhoun. All that adds up to cornerback potentially being an early need, especially if a player as good as Williams slips in the first round
