What a great time to be a sports fan in Cleveland. The Cavs are cruising, the Indians are putting together some good victories, and there is no negative news coming from the Browns. And then there is “Believeland”…
- I will say the 30 for 30 was well done and I knew exactly how it was going to be before I even watched the show. The show brought back a few good memories, like hearing Herb Score, but it mostly pored more salt in my sports wounds.
- In my opinion, this documentary should’ve been made after a Championship had been won. At least then, after all of the heartbreak shown, there would be a happy ending.
- Speaking of happy endings, The Cavs are six wins away from a NBA Championship. This playoff run has been incredible to watch. Even if the East is “weaker”, the Cavs are doing what they need to do and that is dominate.
- Major props needs to be given to Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. We all know about their offensive games, but during this playoff run, they have really made a noticeable effort on the defensive end. On a couple of occasions during last nights Game 2, Love was defending Kyle Lowry one on one and did a great job defensively.
- Whatever the outcome of these playoffs, we all just need to take a step back and enjoy. We are watching the best professional basketball team this city has ever had.
- I want to send out a big congratulations to my Sports on Tap cohorts Rob Trautman, Sean Duffy, and Rob’s Brother Geoff Trautman for competing in and finishing the 2016 Rite-Aid Cleveland Half Marathon. It was not the best running conditions but they finished, got their medal and enjoyed some chocolate milk. I took this year off, but am looking forward to the 2017 Half Marathon. I am already signed up.
That’s it for this week everyone. Remember to give Sports on Tap a follow on Twitter (@SOTPodcast)and make sure you listen to the show. Thanks for reading, have a great weekend and hopefully enjoy another Cavs blowout of the Raptors!
Cheers
