4.) Bradley Chubb DE NC State
This pick should be traded if Chubb is gone. If he is still available I would take him as the best defensive player in the draft. Combining him with Myles Garrett builds a dynamic one two punch on the end at arguably the most important position on the defense. Plus the Browns get a rare chance to add two top five players to the roster.
Round 2
33.) Mike Hughes CB UCF
If the Browns hold 33 and 35 still, I would go best player available at their choice of RB, WR, OT, DT, or CB. I think the top three WRs, OTs, and DTs will be gone by this point and the drop off is big enough that I would probably turn to CB and RB. I mentioned Alexander in my other mock but Hughes can be another potential name still hanging around. He didn’t perform well at the combine and if teams question his speed at corner he might go extremely early day two.
35.) Sony Michel RB Georgia
You could almost take a dart board and whoever it lands on would be a decent RB to take here. Once again I’m not the biggest fan of a three back committee but Johnson has not signed an extension and if Hyde gets hurt or this RB outperforms him the front office could always cut his rope after the season. I like Michel as one of the more pure runners in the draft but once again there are a lot of backs I wouldn’t argue against here.
