WR James Washington Oklahoma State
Washington is one of those receivers that I have seen grades all over from a first round pick to a fourth-round pick. I feel he belongs in the latter. He comes from Oklahoma State where the offense has always put up big plays. He was nominated for the Biletnikoff Award because of the long ball, averaging over 20 yards a catch to go along 13 TDs. My concern is the Big 12 plays no defense and his numbers are inflated because of it. Only two corners from the entire conference might get drafted this year and against the one in Texas, he was held to 4 catches for 32 yards. His route running is poor for the NFL standard and at 5’11” 213 pounds with a 4.54 40, which would not qualify among the top 20 for WRs at the combine, he does not have a lot of size or deep threat speed for an outside receiver in the NFL or the agility to play slot. I just see him having a hard time separating at the NFL level, therefore limiting his success.
