5. Indiana Pacers (16-10)
Last Week: 9
The Pacers have righted the ship in the month of December after starting out 2-4, and have won three of their last four games, to work their way back to the second-seed in the Eastern Conference.
They rattled off a three-game win-streak against Toronto, Dallas, and Brooklyn before falling to Memphis. Surprisingly, it was not Paul George having to do it all this week, as C.J. Miles, Rodney Stuckey, Ian Mahimi, and Jordan Hill all stepped up for Frank Vogel’s bunch.
The Pacers have a big matchup on the road against the Spurs Monday night, so that could give basketball fans a good idea of where this team really belongs.
6. Chicago Bulls (15-10)
Last Week: 5
The Bulls have lost two in a row, including a quadruple-overtime thriller against the Detroit Pistons, which finished with a final score of 147-144.
That game, understandably, may have tired them out for the next game against the New York Knicks, as the Bulls travelled to Madison Square Garden the next night, and lost.
Chicago is still 15-10 with the fourth-best record in the East, but we’re going to chalk this short two-game losing-streak up to just being tired from some crazy circumstances. The Bulls should end that losing-streak Monday night against the Nets.
