NEOSI Previews the NFL’s AFC from Top to Bottom Heading Into 2016

Tom-Brady

AFC East

1.) New England Patriots 12-4

The teams in the division are not that great besides the Patriots. They might be the most complete team in the NFL and the Brady suspension is the only reason why I have them at four losses. Expect him to be on a mission to destroy everyone when he comes back. They are my team to beat in the AFC and they have it all. They only thing keeping them from being the clear front runner is the RB situation but Belichick has shown he can do it with all different running backs each week.

2.) New York Jets 8-8

The Jets have the defense to make them scary, and the offense can be there. What shape Ryan Fitzpatrick will be in after not being with the team for much of the offseason is a question to look at. He also had one of his better years as a pro this past season but I don’t see him as the QB to get them over that hump. It might be another middle of the road year for the Jets.

3.) Buffalo Bills 7-9

Suspensions and injuries already have the Bills in a bad start. McCoy and Watkins are going to have to step up to keep the offense going this year. A top notch defense in the past, the Bills were horrible defensively under new coach Rex Ryan. They changed a lot but second round pick Reggie Ragland will miss the whole year and Marcell Dareus is in rehab and suspended to start the season. I can’t believe Tyrod Taylor will be enough to lead them to the playoffs.

4.) Miami Dolphins 4-12

The Dolphins spend a lot of money every offseason but usually stick in mediocrity. They lost their best offensive weapon in Lamar Miller in free agency and don’t have a RB ready to step up and be the guy. Tannehill is your average QB and the defense is the most overpaid in the NFL. I don’t expect anything to come from Miami this year.
