20. CLEVELAND BROWNS (20) 2-4
The Cleveland Browns were on the cusp of defeating Peyton Manning in a game everyone picked Cleveland to lose. The Browns covered the spread but fell short in over-time and Denver remains undefeated. The Browns offense has looked in rhythm for the first time in almost a decade, and all I see or hear about the Browns is Johnny Manziel’s personal life. This is team that is right there every week and the discussion is about a bench-warmer for the moment. A loss is a loss – understandable. The Browns are leaving the charming shores of Lake Erie to visit the St. Louis Rams. Against a furious pass-rush, the Browns will look to implement more of Robert Turbin into the game plan and see if they can find out how to run the ball.
21. MIAMI DOLPHINS (27) 2-3
Talk about a defensive performance! Miami looked nothing short of impressive against the Titans. Much like the Browns in Week 2, the Dolphins terrorized rookie Marcus Mariota all game long. Interim head coach Dan Campbell has his first NFL win and I don’t expect it to be his last of the year.
22. DALLAS COWBOYS (24) 2-4
I bumped the Dallas Cowboys up two spots during their bye week for two reasons:
1. Benching Brandon Weeden
2. Benching Brandon Weeden
In all seriousness, I do feel starting Matt Cassel at QB will put the Cowboys in better position for contention when Tony Romo and Dez Bryant return to action.
