29. HOUSTON TEXANS (31) 3-5
A good old-fashioned defensive beat down for the Houston Texans as they took care of the Tennessee Titans with ease this past Sunday. Houston has a Week 9 bye so we will not be seeing any action coming from the Texans and despite a major shake-up, will most likely return around No. 29 next week on our power rankings.
30. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (23) 2-6
Not many people dropping this team as low as us, but given the turmoil and lack of any offensive production I just don’t see many positive signs coming from the Bay Area – besides maybe the sunshine, it’s getting dark this time of year early in Cleveland. Colin Kaepernick has been benched for former 1st round pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Blaine Gabbert. Maybe Gabbert can prove me wrong, but until then I have this team listed in at No. 30.
31. TENNESSEE TITANS (30) 1-6
Good news for the Browns –the team ahead of them in the Jared Goff race already supposedly has their franchise QB and they’re just falling on hard times, firing Ken Whisenhunt early Tuesday morning. Next week they take on the New Orleans Saints, a team coming off a 7 TD passing performance. Could Tennessee go 1-15?
32. DETROIT LIONS (32) 1-7
London was not a great experience for anyone wearing a Detroit Lions uniform; I don’t care how good the tea was. Detroit better find a way to turn this around because the next 8 weeks are going to fly by faster than the first 8. Okay maybe not literally, but you get the gist.
