3. CAROLINA PANTHERS (4) 7-0
In probably the wettest game of the season, Carolina managed to hydroplane to a victory courtesy of kicker Graham Gano’s fifty-two yard field goal to seal the game in overtime which was a result of an interception by Luke Kuechly.
4. DENVER BRONCOS (5) 7-0
Lockdown. I’m not sure what Aaron Rodgers did to upset this Denver defense but only giving up 77 passing yards to an early MVP candidate is impressive. C.J. Anderson and Ronnie Hillman combined for over 160 yards on the ground and 3 TDs, which is going to be crucial going forward due to the lack off points being produced by Peyton Manning’s once crippling pass attack. Adding Vernon Davis to the mix may add some much needed timber to the fire.
5. GREEN BAY (2) 6-1
And then there were four. The Packers are no longer members of the exclusive undefeated club, but something tells me they’ll be just fine. Eddie Lacy couldn’t find much room to run the ball and for whatever reason, (playing the NO.1 ranked defense possibly) Aaron Rodgers under-performed for the first time this season. They’ll meet another undefeated team this week when they travel to play the Carolina Panthers.
6. ARIZONA CARDINALS (8) 6-2
There are many things that can separate the good teams from the great teams in the NFL. Making adjustments when things aren’t going your way, and executing on all cylinders to get the game back in your favor and give yourself a fighting chance is definitely one of those elements that can detach a team from the rest of the bunch. Arizona played a poor first half against the Cleveland Browns and then came out in the 3rd quarter and didn’t let the Browns come up for air in a suffocating offensive onslaught.
