NEO Sports Insiders Week Five NFL Power Rankings

28. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (29)

Jacksonville had a really good chance to go 2-2 on the season but were taken to school by veterans Matt Hasselbeck and Adam Vinatieri. Good performances out of Blake Bortles, T.J. Yeldon, and Allen Hurns show promise for the young Jaguars offense and with a game against the Buccaneers this week Jacksonville will look to build on last week.

29. SAN FRANSISCO 49ERS (28)

Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers offense continue to underwhelm opponents and it does not show signs of picking up anytime soon. While San-Fran fans will probably not start calling for backup QB Blaine Gabbert, the stagnant offense has to be concerning. 3.9 yards per play is grotesque and if the 49ers get exposed on Sunday night football against the Giants this week, don’t be surprised if the coaching staff shakes things up a bit.

30. HOUSTON TEXANS (25)

Houston took a beating courtesy of the Atlanta Falcons and Devonta Freeman. Head coach Bill O’Brien is sticking with QB Ryan Mallett for the Texans’ Thursday night match-up against the Colts. Hope is dwindling in Houston and I don’t expect this team to climb into the positive spectrum of our rankings any time soon.

31. CHICAGO BEARS (32)

For a team that looked as if it may not win a single game this season, Jay Cutler was resurrected and hit tight end Martellus Bennett for 11 catches, 83 yards, and a TD. Matt Forte also proved why he is one of the most valuable backs in the NFL finishing with over 150 all-purpose yards against the Oakland Raiders.

32. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (30)

Que “Hello darkness my old friend” as the Buccaneers find themselves back at the bottom. Jamies Winston had a tough outing against the Carolina Panthers, throwing four interceptions. The Bucs will look to bounce back against the Jaguars in Week 5 but I wouldn’t hold my breath or put any money down on Tampa for the rest of the season.
