17. HOUSTON TEXANS (13) 6-7
Even with their loss to the Patriots on Sunday night, the Texans are still tied for the AFC South crown as the Colts also lost their Week 14 game. Brian Hoyer took some brutal hits during the match and as a result he now lies within the NFL concussion protocol. T.J. Yates will be on schedule to start for the Texans when they take on the Colts in a game with playoff implications written all over it.
18. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (14) 6-7
In a division dominated by the Panthers, the Bucs have still come a long way since being awarded the No. 1 overall pick as a conclusion of last year. Jamies Winston is getting comfortable with the offense and even with the loss of Vincent Jackson, who could return to action if the Bucs make the playoffs, Tampa will depend on the young playmakers to show their talents in the final three games of the regular season.
19. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (15) 6-7
After suffering a rib injury, Matt Hasselbeck was relieved of his duties to career back-up Charlie Whitehurst. The efforts were meaningless in the 51-16 loss to the hands of the division foe Jacksonville Jaguars – who at 5-8 are right on the coat tails of the Colts and Buccaneers in the AFC South.
20. CHICAGO BEARS (17) 5-8
Chicago fans may be questioning if the carries between veteran All-Pro Matt Forte and rookie Jeremy Langford should be as identical as the coaching staff agrees (10 for Forte and 11 for Langford.) Regardless, the best case scenario for the Bears is a wash – if they can win out the last 3 games of the season.
