14. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (23) 5-5
The Chiefs receive a boost in our power rankings due to the lack of wins produced by teams ahead of the last week. Destroying any hope a Charger’s fan had of a turn-around wasn’t very nice but you do what you have to. Holding San Diego to just 3 points is a good indicator for Kansas City, who have taken some criticism for its lack of defensive playmaking ability.
15. HOUSTON TEXANS (26) 5-5
T.J. Yates found out what to do early – throw anywhere in the vicinity of DeAnde Hopkins. Tied for first with the Colts in the AFC South, the Texans are in good position to find a way to come out on top in that division. Playing New Orleans after their bye week doesn’t sound appealing to most Texan’s fans but a good test and match-up for Houston is in store.
16. NEW YORK JETS (11) 5-5
Now riding a two-game losing streak the Jets ae in trouble. No need to jump ship on this team but the recent loss to Houston is a cause for concern. When playing in a division dominated by New England you have to win those “winnable” games and Houston definitely fit that bill.
17. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (17) 5-5
Just realized this team has not moved from this spot in three weeks. That speaks to the mediocrity that is the Indianapolis Colts this year – but that could be changing thanks to Matt Hasselbeck: 23/32 – 213 yards – 2 TD / 2 INT. Frank Gore only amassing 34 yards off of 14 attempts is a little eye-brow raising but fixing the run game is easy when you have a veteran such as Gore in the huddle.
