Munch Musings from E. 53rd Street and Hamm Avenue Guards Edition

Here we go! Post season baseball is coming to the corner of Carnegie and Ontario starting Saturday. Thank you, GUARDIANS. With that I must present a simple math lesson. Compare these two columns:

– .313 / .420

– .250 / .568

– .438 / .525

– .188 / .503

– .063 / .584

– .000 / .630

– .469 / .563

– .375 / .574

– .667 / .583

– .471 / .494

– .412 / .568

– .611 / .469

Now you know math is not my forte but here are some simple numbers that continue to puzzle me that the masses are not on their knees thanking the Cleveland Guardians and their ownership for GOOD SPORTS IN #TheLAND! You are correct sir and madam…the numbers on the left are the Browns winning percentages since the Haslam’s have taken over the team and on the right are the Guards winning percentages. NO BRAINER, right, as to what team would have all the love? Only twice in 12 years has the football team had a better winning percentage than the baseball team.

Yes, a scolding must happen too. We continue to hear nonsense that the baseball owners are cheap, and I have even heard a supposed Sports Talk Host in town say, “I do not like Jimmy and Dee but at least they spend money!” PARDON FREAKING ME? You would rather have a team lose because they are spending money? Oh my…I better stop here.

Bottom line, the fans in Cleveland must be saluted this year as over 2 million of you went through the turnstiles to see a WINNING TEAM with class, love of the game, playing a GAME like they care and no baggage. It seems like a no brainer to me who we should support but perhaps therein lies the answer…lack of brains, or perhaps too much alcohol and delusion for the football crowd. Please stop the insanity too when I hear “it’s what I always have done, this is Browns town, etc.”. So, you enjoy getting played and plunked year after year? I just do not get it! I know you are much better than this. Let’s GO GUARDIANS.

Read more of my MUSINGS and ALL GOOD verbiage in NEO SPORTS INSIDERS and I must shout out the Ken Ganley Auto Group and Ganley Chevy Aurora for their support.

Please take care of each other and it’s your world, pay attention. Truly enjoy every sandwich and for now ADIOS AMIGO, long may you run.
