Hope you and yours are doing better than good. You know my glass is always 1/2 full…shucks I free pour when I am behind the bar (mix ’em like you drink ’em)but here are a few things that simply put are wrong! Let me know how you feel about them!
* A Ukrainian native playing basketball for UTAH STATE was met with jeers of “Russia, Russia” from the Colorado State student section while he shot free throws late in a game. He did make 4 out of 5. Is “horsewhipping” too good for these ignorant, dirtbag students? How about a stint in the Ukraine army? Pathetic.
* We all, especially in Ohio, remember the saga of the fake High School Bishop Sycamore in Columbus. They were outed on ESPN national when for some reason the former world wide leader decided to feature them in a nationally televised HS football game live from Tom Benson Stadium at the Pro Football Hall of Fame and Museum in Canton. The school was built on deceit. I new something was up when I called one of their games vs Archbishop Hoban in 2020. As the play by play man I needed a roster so I asked their coach and his staff an hour before the game. They said to give them a few and an assistant came out and gave the roster on a paper towel. Some young men had first or last names. Well let’s reward one of their coaches as he was just named the Head Coach at Centennial HS in Columbus. So the school, school board and even the OHSAA is ok with this? Sad.
* By now most of us are aware that super fan and dang great human John Adams the Cleveland baseball bleacher drummer had been called Home. In keeping with the theme I came across a social media post where some moron, yes MORON, noted John’s health decline was due to the changing of the name Indians to Guardians. All I can say is IGNORANT.
* One last “thing that should not happen” has to do with music but no doubt music and sports are very much kindred souls. Heck I came up with the name SPORTSROCKERS decades ago to pay homage to the partnership between jams and sports. So here we go…a bud in South Florida went to but a seat to see Buffet at the Hard Rock. The ticket costs $565 but it was third row center. He was going to suck it up and make the purchase until he found out Ticketmaster (I refuse to use a “capital t” in their name) noted the fee was $150. All I can say here is PIGS!
Have a great one and we will talk soon from the corner of E. 53rd and Hamm Ave. Until then enjoy every sandwich! Adios amigo…long may you run!!
