Munch Musings from E. 53rd and Hamm Ave

I hope this joyous season is full of blessings and happiness for you and yours and 2023 is the year for all of us!

So much going through my “Sports Gourd” right now so let’s touch on a few things…

Cavaliers need to echo JB’s mantra when it comes to defense, and JB needs to check out some items too. I was corresponding with NEO SPORTS INDSIDERS and hoops savant Tim Corbett and we discussed the following (BTW Tim was a balla at Solon HS and CLARION plus one of the few if not the only white dude who more than held his own at Broadway Rec in the day!): Teams raining 3’s on the Cavs and so many of these are due to the wrong opponent being open.  Sure Kyme “Flat Earth” Irving and KD will hit 3’s on anyone but when I see others wide open like TJ Warren and a host of Raptors so the Cavs can clog the middle it makes me think twice. BTW great defense is teams leaving Okoro and Stevens open in the corner.

Yes, people complain about anything, and it is your right but many of you are losing sleep about all the bowl games! SO? Do not watch or pay attention. Most are great for the fans, alums, and cities where they are held. Add a few more!

Interesting that with 2 games left in the browns season there is still drama…not good drama. Meet the new season same as the old season. When does it stop? When the ownership changes and make sure you ask jimmy’s “real” head coach Paul depodesta how things are going on 4th and 1 in the red zone. As my 23-year-old son recognizes and said to me a little earlier “the fans are duped again…I am one…and jimmy knows that the fanbase will continue to make excuses to follow the team.” I feel free since I disavowed them this year and it feels great!

Gotta leave you with this and yes, the times they are a changin’ but years ago Earle Bruce pulled me aside to note that WW Hayes was let go NOT for popping Charlie Baumann but for losing to the u of m three times in a row. John Cooper still is a dear friend but unabashedly I can say he should have been terminated early on for losses to wishagain. YES, this is the 44 Anniversary of WOODY poppin’ the “billy”! Now the big inquiry for you…when OSU beats Georgie and should the u of m beat TCU (I have the Horned Frogs by the way) SHOULD RYAN DAY BE CANNED IF OSU PLAYS the u of m AND LOSES?
