Cub Swanson can once again quiet his haters in Fresno, California when he takes on fellow Californian Brian Ortega. Swanson is a well-rounded fighter and was last seen picking apart overmatched Artem Lobov in a performance he hoped would earn him a title shot. It did not and here he is, once again trying to send a statement to UFC President Dana White and current UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway. However, Ortega will look to make his name at Swanson’s expense.
Ortega is undefeated and has only suffered a no-contest. He’s extremely talented on the ground and could really do some damage on Killer Cub in that facet of the fight. The big question mark will be how he measures up with Swanson on their feet. If he starts getting teed off on, he should abort his mission and go to the ground. Of course, that’s if Cub lets him.
