It’s going to be a fun night of fighting Saturday night, as The Ultimate Fighter 24 has its finale tonight. Headlining the card is the UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson, as he takes on TUF 24 winner Tim Elliott. Elliott is returning to the UFC after fighting for them back in 2013. He suffered three consecutive losses and was released in 2015. Since then, he has fought all the way back and has the chance of a lifetime when he faces Johnson. Elliott earned the fight by winning this season’s TUF competition, as the UFC compiled 16 champions to try and find new competition for Johnson.
There are other great fights on the card, as Henry Cejudo and Joseph Benavidez try to stake their claim as the next contender for “Mighty Mouse”. With numerous intriguing fights on the card, below are my predictions for the entire main card.
Brandon Moreno vs. Ryan Benoit- Moreno was truly impressive in his fill-in fight against Louis Smolka. I believe this continues with a second-round submission of Benoit.
Winner: Brandon Moreno
Sara McMann vs. Alexis Davis- I think that McMann welcomes Davis back with a loss, as she wins by split-decision.
Winner: Sara McMann
Ion Cutelaba vs. Jarred Cannonier- Cannonier is very dangerous and I expect that to continue. Cannonier will win by first-round knockout.
Winner: Jarred Cannonier
Jake Ellenberger vs Jorge Masvidal- Ellenberger is always a fun fight, but this will not be pretty. Masvidal could very well finish him and I think he does with a third-round knockout.
Winner: Jorge Masvidal
Joseph Benavidez vs Henry Cejudo- Cejudo and Benavidez both were embarrassed in the past by Johnson. They will both try to prove their worth in the Flyweight division. I think that Cejudo will outwrestle Benavidez and earn a unanimous decision victory.
Winner: Henry Cejudo
Demetrious Johnson vs. Tim Elliott for the UFC Flyweight Championship- Elliott’s comeback story is fantastic, except for the part where he loses to Demetrious Johnson by unanimous decision.
Winner: Demetrious Johnson
