The UFC has a Fight Night main event in Glasgow, Scotland that features two very quiet fighters outside the Octagon waiting to set off fireworks inside the Octagon Sunday afternoon.
Gunnar Nelson is a throwback MMA fighter. He is quiet during the build-up to a fight, does his job efficiently and disappears into the sunset until it’s time to rise again from the shadows. Now, in today’s MMA, that might not be the greatest approach for gaining new fans and making a name for a title shot. But Nelson really does impress when in the Octagon. We shall see what he does against Santiago Ponzinibbio today in Glasgow, as he can hurt Nelson on his feet if given the chance to.
