CLEVELAND, Ohio- The Cleveland Monsters have made two roster signings that will be effective for the rest of the season, as they have signed former Boston College defenseman Scott Savage and Saginaw Spirit forward Hayden Hodgson to amateur tryout contracts for the remainder of the season.
Savage, 21, had a 5-24-29 stat line with 24 minutes spent in the penalty box in 40 appearances with Boston College this NCAA season. He had played in a career total of 154 games in the NCAA and totaled ten goals and sixty-one assists in his career. Savage also spent time in the USHL from 2011-13, putting out a 3-5-8 stat line in 52 appearances.
Hodgson, 21, is an undrafted player who has played in the OHL for the Erie Otters, Sarnia Sting and Saginaw Spirit and has a total of 294 collegiate appearances. 331 minutes in the box and a 87-70-157 career stat line is what Hodgson brings to the table. This season, Hodgson has a 38-28-66 stat line and 71 penalty minutes in 67 appearances for Saginaw.
The Monsters take on Chicago at 7pm tonight at The Q.
