The Cleveland Monsters looked to get a road win in Manitoba, as they took on the Manitoba Moose on Friday night. The Monsters were able to get the victory by a score of 5-1.
The first period was a success for the Monsters, as Daniel Zaar scored on the power play created by a Jake Baker interference penalty. Zaar’s goal at the 15:16 mark was the only goal of the period, as the Monsters took a 1-0 lead into the second period.
Alex Broadhurst scored in the second period on the power play at the 15:18 mark to make it 2-0. Ryan Craig followed that up with two goals of his own at the 17:33 and 19:35 marks of the second period. The Monsters would take a 4-0 lead going into the third period.
The Monsters would give up one goal in the third period, as Jack Roslovic would score the lone goal for Manitoba at the 8:59 mark. Cleveland would add one more goal from Markus Hannikainen on a short-handed goal, as they would win by a score of 5-1.
Cleveland moves into fifth-place in the Central Division with the win, as they now have a 10-11-1-1 record.
