CLEVELAND, Ohio- The Cleveland Monsters had the opportunity Saturday night to keep on climbing in the Central Division standings. With their second game in a row against Milwaukee, the Monsters could send a statement to the rest of the division with a win.
The Monsters found themselves down rather quickly, as Trevor Murphy scored forty-one seconds into the game to give the Admirals a 1-0 lead. After Sonny Milano (embellishment) and Jimmy Oligny (boarding) both went to the penalty box at the 14:43 mark, the Monsters were able to score off of the stick of Blake Siebenaler. It was Siebenaler’s first professional goal and it couldn’t have come at a better time, as he put the puck between the pipes at the 15:26 mark of the first period. Murphy would strike again at the 17:42 mark of the first period, as Milwaukee would enter the intermission leading 2-1.
After a scoreless second period, Milwaukee would score twice in the third period. Vladislav Kamanev scored at the fifty-four second mark and Justin Florek followed that with a goal of his own at the 11:31 mark. Milwaukee would win the game by a score of 4-1.
Cleveland falls to 8-11-1-1 on the season. They play Grand Rapids on Tuesday at The Q.
