CLEVELAND– MLB Network will exclusively broadcast Game 2 of the ALDS between the Cleveland Indians and the Wild Card winner on Friday, according to a press release.
The game is slated to begin at 5:08 p.m. EST, and the broadcast team will be Matt Vasgersian, Hall of Famer John Smoltz and Tom Verducci.
The network also announced that they have partnered with several providers to expand their existing carriage of MLB Network by providing a free preview to customers of Armstrong, Cablevision (Optimum), Comcast (XFINITY), Cox, DISH, Fidelity, Frontier, Grande, GVTC, Mid-Hudson Cable, Norwood Light Broadband, RCN and Verizon FiOS from Oct. 4-11.
The game can also be streamed by MLB At Bat subscribers.

It’s ridiculous that you can watch almost 100% of Indian regular season games, but if you have a cable provider like WOW that does not offer the MLB network, you cannot watch a playoff game. Major League Baseball should have a rule similar how the NFL handles the Thursday night games on the NFL network. Those games are also broadcast on an over the air channel in the cities whose teams are playing.
