NEW YORK, New York – For the first time in UFC History one man holds a title in two different weight classes at the same time. Conor McGregor absolutely dominated UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez from start to finish before knocking him out in the second round to capture the belt.
This was perhaps the best we have ever seen Conor McGregor and it came against one of his steepest tests in Alvarez. Conor kept his left hand cocked and just uncorked it at will when he needed too, flooring Eddie every single time he landed it.
Conor McGregor has proven again that he is so much more then just boast, he is the best pound for pound fighter in the world. Now the real talk begins, if McGregor is going to keep both belts he will have a slew of challengers ahead in both weight classes. Not to mention, the 170 pound Welterweight Champion Tyrone Woodley wants a piece of the Irishman as well.
Stay locked into NEO Sports later this week as we break down his toughest tests at each weight class.
But for now, all that aside, we have a new UFC LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPION CONOR MCGREGOR!
