Opening Segment:
Shane McMahon says that RAW will have the start of a tag team tournament which will have the winners eventually face the New Day for the WWE Tag Team Championships. Sami Zayn against AJ Styles will happen and if Zayn wins, the match between Styles and Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship will become a Triple Threat. Kevin Owens interrupts and says that if Shane thinks that Zayn in a triple threat is a bad idea and Shane must have a couple of screws loose after jumping off that cell at WrestleMania 32. Owens said that he got robbed last week because he wasn’t not pinned in the fatal four way match last week and is yet to get his rematch for the Intercontinental Title and demands his rematch. Shane says he will have to earn it and he will have to face only one man, and that man is Cesaro. The winner of that match will get a chance at the Intercontinental Championship.
Kevin Owens vs Cesaro
Cesaro has tape on his injured shoulder. Owens targets Cesaro’s shoulder throughout the match. Why didn’t Cesaro’s shoulder bother him this much when he came back? Kevin Owens hitting the Frog Splash is a thing of beauty! Cesaro went for the Cesaro Swing but only went for about half the amount he usually does because of his shoulder.
WINNER: Cesaro via The Neutralizer
The tag team tournament is sponsored by Booty O’s. New Day says instead of being upset over your March Sadness bracket you now have a new bracket to care about.
Lucha Dragons vs Dudley Boyz
Kalisto gets hurt and gets checked on by a WWE doctor.
WINNERS: Dudley Boyz via 3-D
Enzo & Cass come out post match. Enzo & Cass do their usual opener and ask How You Doing! Dudley Boyz say that they are doing just fine and that they need to leave because they are just a couple of punks. Cass says that him and Enzo are just a couple of jackhammers making holes in the ground. I love the fact of seeing Enzo & Cass in this tag team tournament and love seeing them on the main roster.
Roman Reigns segment:
Reigns comes out to a majority of boos. Reigns says it’s all good because he isn’t a good guy, he isn’t a bad guy, he is the guy. Reigns says he has a lot of respect for Styles and Zayn because they’ve won championships throughout the world but neither one of them have won THE championship. League of Nations came out and Sheamus says that if Reigns would have to face any member of the League of Nations would he be as confident? League of Nations come down to attack Roman Reigns but the lights go out and the Wyatt Family comes out to attack the League of Nations. Shane comes out and says he never thought he would see the day that Reigns and Wyatt would be fighting side by side and wants to spoil himself. Shane announces that two members of the League of Nations will face Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt in the main event.
Charlotte vs Natalya for the WWE Women’s Championship
Earlier in the show, Dr. Phil told Charlotte that her dad is holding her back and she has to learn to stand on her own two feet without his help and she will be more successful. Back and forth match that was very interesting. Ric Flair pulled the referee out of the ring while Charlotte was about to tap out. Charlotte tapped out but the match ended because of DQ.
WINNER: Natalya via disqualification
Charlotte is still the champion. Dr. Phil compliment the Women’s Division and says how proud he is of it.
The Usos vs Curtis Axel and Heath Slater
The Social Outcasts were in control most of the match until they celebrated with the Bo-Train.
WINNERS: The Usos via a roll-up
Luke Gallows and Doc Anderson attacked the Usos post match. Has the Bullet Club/Balor Club arrived? WWE now has two members officially on the roster. Wow. The tag team has improved drastically within the past two weeks.
AJ Styles vs Sami Zayn
During the match it was mentioned that the last time Zayn had a match this big of caliber was when he faced John Cena for the United States Title during his RAW debut. Sami Zayn’s dives are fantastic. It’s hard to believe that we are seeing this match and how successful both men are becoming in front of our eyes. Remember that Styles just debuted at the Rumble and Zayn technically debuted back in Montreal during that open challenge. That was a scary looking Sunset Flip during their match.
WINNER: AJ Styles via Phenomenal Forearm
Backstage after the match, Shane McMahon approached both competitors and said that this is what wrestling is all about and he said that match was awesome.
Chris Jericho hosts the Highlight Reel with Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho is still a phenomenal heel. Chris says he owes his success to himself. Jericho says that tonight he gives the gift of Chris Jericho. Chris Jericho says that nobody on this roster can touch him right now. Dean Ambrose interrupts. Ambrose brought down a potted plant to the ring for the show. Dean Ambrose says that this is his show now. Jericho said do not touch my set. Dean Ambrose said that Jericho didn’t get the memo? Shane McMahon made the decision to give Ambrose the show. The note reads, the Highlight Reel is canceled and it is now the Ambrose Asylum with Dean Ambrose. Ambrose’s first question to Chris was what is up with that scarf. Jericho tells Ambrose to get out of his ring. Ambrose then asks if he isn’t going to tell us about his scarf… Ambrose then hits Dirty Deeds on Jericho. Pretty cool segment!
Apollo Crews vs Adam Rose
Apollo Crews has unbelievable athleticism.
WINNER: Apollo Crews via Spin-out Powerbomb
Crews is looking very strong in just three matches so far on the main roster.
Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt vs Sheamus and Alberto Del Rio
It is pretty odd seeing Bray Wyatt work as a face. This is the first time in his career that he worked a match as a babyface. Every time Reigns entered the match and performed his moves, he was received with loud boos. Bray Wyatt was in major babyface mode and many cheers. Lights go out again, rest of the Wyatt Family minus Luke Harper came out to attack Rusev.
WINNERS: Bray Wyatt & Roman Reigns via Sister Abigail
RAW closes out with a stare down between Wyatt and Reigns
This episode of RAW was amazing. It kept me engaged throughout and honestly I think from a product stand point, this show was way better than the RAW after Mania. Shane McMahon in power is a major plus, WWE should keep it that way.
