Opening Segment:
Chris Jericho starts off the show with the Highlight Reel. Jericho says that his guest was supposed to be Dean Ambrose but he isn’t here..because of me. Jericho says that Dean Ambrose might not come around again. Jericho said that with Ambrose not being around he found the second best thing to be his guest, and that is the remains of Mitch. Jericho says that he could glue Mitch together and can get more off of Mitch then he could with Dean Ambrose. Chris Jericho said here is the gift of Chris Jericho. Big Cass interrupts Jericho. Big Cass said if he gets the gift of Jericho he is heading to the store to return it. Jericho said that Big Cass should run and check on his boy Enzo Annoying, he’s probably in the same hospital as Ambrose. Big Cass said that in this new era nobody runs, we fight, and we should fight right now. Chris Jericho eventually runs away. Big Cass eventually calls Jericho S-A-W-F-T .
Dolph Ziggler vs Baron Corbin
Ziggler and Corbin go back and forth in this match. Possibly the best match these two have had against each other…which they should since Ziggler is the only person Corbin has wrestled since his debut essentially.
WINNER: Baron Corbin via End of Days
Fandango vs R-Truth
Distractions on the apron again. Tyler Breeze accidentally gets knocked off the apron.
WINNER: R-Truth
Charlotte vs Paige
Natalya is on commentary. First time we see Paige in a while. Natalya…not a big fan of her on commentary, she just didn’t fit the role and also gave a shout out for her cat on Instagram. Ric Flair was banned from ringside but made an appearance until Shane McMahon’s music hit to escort Ric out. A great women’s match, hopefully we see these two for the Women’s Championship soon.
WINNER: Paige via roll-up
Huge takeaway of this match was how bad Natalya was on commentary.
Sami Zayn vs The Miz if Zayn wins he is included in the Triple Threat
Zayn doing a moonsault off the barricade is a thing of beauty. Zayn’s move-set is great, love it so much. Sami Zayn will be included in the Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules. The Miz has looked really good in the ring since he beat Zack Ryder for the Intercontinental Championship.
WINNER: Sami Zayn via Helluva Kick
Backstage Segment with Becky Lynch:
Renee Young showed a replay of last week with Emma poking Becky in the eye and Emma stating that it was accidental. Emma told her one thing she does need though is eyes in the back of her head. After Emma said that Dana Brooke attacked Becky Lynch from behind.
Sin Cara vs Rusev
Rusev was in control most of the match and after performing a move he looked at Kalisto at ring side saying that he was next. Kalisto provided a distraction on the apron which led to Lana getting on the apron. With Lana on the apron, Kalisto kicked Rusev.
WINNER: Sin Cara via Roll-up
AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows vs Roman Reigns and The Usos
Jey Uso was the first to get eliminated by a roll up, The Club had the numbers game early on. Karl Anderson was eliminated by a roll up also. Jimmy Uso got eliminated during the commercial break…didn’t make sense on the timing of the elimination. Came down to Styles vs Reigns. Styles and Reigns came down to a brawl between the two, love how well this feud is going.
WINNER: Reigns and The Usos via Disqualification
Anderson hit Reigns in the back with a steel chair when they were by the announce table. Gallows and Anderson took out the Usos, Reigns speared Gallows and Anderson after. Styles teased hitting the Styles Clash on Reigns on to a steel chair.
Zack Ryder vs Kevin Owens
If Ryder wins, Ryder gets Owens spot in the fatal four way for the Intercontinental Championship. Ryder is getting to prove himself and it is showing. Ryder got a brief run with the Intercontinental Championship, and in every match he puts up a great fight and seems like a legitimate threat to win. I didn’t think that Owens was going to lose but it seemed like it could happen with Ryder in that match.
WINNER: Kevin Owens via pop-up powerbomb
New Day Segment:
New Day talks about facing The Vaudevillians at Extreme Rules for the WWE Tag Team Championships. New Day tells the WWE Universe to hail the Booty. New Day says that The Vaudevillians are from an era when they weren’t appreciated…..Smart phone users were not appreciated back then.
Dudley Boyz vs The New Day
Pretty forgettable match. The Vaudevillians attacked Xavier Woods at ringside. This could have been a better match.
WINNERS: Dudley Boyz via Clothesline from D-Von Dudley
Big Cass vs Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho was coming out with his jacket, Jericho got attacked in the dark. Once the mysterious person got in the ring, the hood was still on but later determined to be Dean Ambrose. Dean Ambrose began to tear Jericho’s jacket and lured Jericho into the ring. Chris Jericho got the advantage over Dean Ambrose but was stopped by Big Cass at ringside. Big Cass threw Jericho back into the ring and was hit by Dirty Deeds from Dean Ambrose. Ambrose took the lighting kit out of the jacket and proceeded to cut Jericho’s jacket in half.
On another note, I am strongly disappointed that Big Cass and Chris Jericho did not happen. Maybe one day.
