It was common knowledge if you follow the WWE that former World Heavyweight and IC Champion Daniel Bryan would be appearing on RAW tonight.
With WrestleMania about 7 weeks away, there was hope that it would be a jumpstart to Bryan getting into an angle and making his in-ring return from a concussions as well as WWE’s refusal to clear him to wrestle.
Now just moments ago, Bryan himself threw out a tweet announcing he’s retiring from in-ring action, sending his many fans into complete panic mode.
Due to medical reasons, effective immediately, I am announcing my retirement. Tonight on Raw, I'll have a chance to elaborate. #gratitude

Now before you go putting your Bryan merchandise on EBay, don’t give up hope just yet. It’s possible that the ‘announcement’ is nothing more than the start of an angle, and instead of retiring, Bryan will be soon making his in-ring return.
Here’s a theory about the announcement from Justin LaBar:
Daniel Bryan retiring. If not storyline, then use to get someone over. If he's not hanging around to do #WWE PR, I say he wrestles elsewhere

Bret Hart months ago stated that Bryan would never compete again, and that he basically was done as a pro wrestler. Tonight we will find out what’s true, and if it’s another angle to get us to tune into Monday Night RAW.
