The WWE Hall of Fame has become one of the biggest events surrounding WrestleMania weekend, and this year with the event in Dallas, you have a feeling that the class this upcoming year will have a ‘Texas’ feel to it.
Right away people were upset that the Undertaker was not announced as the top name for the Hall. My thought on that one is pretty simple – he probably DID get asked, but knowing how Taker does business, he probably said ‘no.’
Taker, with somewhat of a rebirth this year with his feud with Brock Lesnar, is still a few matches away from retirement, and likely wants to let the dust settle on his career, whenever that may be, to go into the Hall.
Once Undertaker, The Rock, and Triple H all go in at some point, the Attitude Era of the WWE will officially be over.
So the Class of 2016 sets up as follows for the WWE according to a leaked report that’s been hitting the internet hard over the last 24 hours:
1. Sting
This one is the one we knew about, and he’s the ‘main event’ of the class. This is a no-brainer, as he deserves the spot, and will make a good headliner for the event. Sting did have a few WWE matches, but his going into the Hall is more about his time in NWA and WCW than what he’s done in WWE. After his neck injury we may have seen the last of Sting, but it’s good the company is putting him in the Hall and he’ll make a great ‘main event’ guy.
