Mahal Wins the Strap, Nakamura’s Debut – Five Takeaways from Sunday’s WWE Backlash

2. Tag Belts Not Getting a Lot of Respect

The Uso’s a very good tag team, and a very good heel tag team, but I didn’t like the direction they took in this PPV with their title defense against the comedy team of Breezango.

If Fandango and Tyler Breeze really wanted to be legit challengers to the tag titles, coming out dressed like a bad sketch from Saturday Night Live is no way to get over.

Sure the WWE always tries to do the whole ‘something for everybody,’ with comedy mixed into competition, but in my opinion that should be used for worthless early and mid-card feuds, not for championship bouts, which it was in this tag title match.

The Smackdown brand is sorely lacking of good tag challengers for the belts, and maybe now that Jinder has the WWE Title, maybe they can start to build the Singh Brothers as legit contenders to the Uso’s.
