Eastlake- The Lake County Captains gave up two early runs in the second inning which proved to be all the runs that the Lugnuts would need to secure a 3-1 victory on Friday night.
After the Lugnuts scored two runs in the second inning, they added a third run in the 3rd inning.
The Lugnuts would then hold the Captains scoreless until the bottom of the eighth inning.
The Captains would rally in the top of the eighth when Chase DeLauter singled to start the inning.
Dayan Frias followed with a single to give the Captains runners on first and second with nobody out.
Cooper Ingle then singled to drive in Chase DeLauter from second base to make the score 3-1.

However, the rally was stopped by the Lugnuts as they changed pitchers. The new pitcher then got them out of the inning as the Captains batters popped out on a bunt and hit into a double play.
The Captains did not score in the ninth as the Lugnuts went on to win 3-1.
The Captains are now 63-64 on the season with two games left to play.
For the second half of the season, the Captains stand at 3 games out of first place with a 32-30 second half record.
