Lots Of Late Models
If you’re a dirt late model fan, you can certainly get your fill this weekend with a number of big shows scheduled throughout the state. Midway Speedway (Crooksville) will hold its annual “Topless 44” Friday night, paying $4,444 to win.
This weekend marks the start of the Attica Raceway Park / Oakshade Raceway challenge for late models. It’s also fan appreciation night at Attica Raceway Park Friday with $10 general admission.
The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will visit three Ohio tracks starting Saturday at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth). The 60-lap main event pays $12,000 to win. One night later the series heads north to Mansfield Motor Speedway (Mansfield) for The Freedom 50. The 50-lap main event pays $10,000 to win. Street stocks are also on the card Sunday, paying $2,000 to win. The series will conclude its tripleheader Monday at Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville). Drivers will go 60-laps chasing $12,000.
Wayne County Adds All Stars
Just days after hosting Ohio Sprint Speedweek, Wayne County Speedway announced that the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will be returning to the Orrville oval sooner than expected. The All Stars will be back on Saturday paying $5,000 to win. Super late models, super stocks and mini stocks will also be racing. It will also be fan appreciation night with $15 general admission, a great price for what sets up to be a great show.
Sprints, Sprints And More Sprints At Fremont Speedway
“The Track That Action Built” will host its “Open Wheel Shootout” Saturday night. 410 sprints, 360 sprints and 305 sprints will all be racing, running for $3,000 to win, $2,000 to win and $1,000 to win.
NASCAR, IndyCar Set To Return To The Buckeye State
The month of July will see a visit from the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Verizon IndyCar Series. The trucks will visit Eldora Speedway (Rossburg) on Wednesday, July 19th. IndyCar will visit the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (Lexington) on Sunday, July 30th.
