3. A Bounce Back That Was Much Needed
The last two days were ultra frustrating for Indians fans, as the team was shutout on Friday and allowed a Royals season high 12 runs on Saturday after they led early 3-0.
Sunday they didn’t wait too long to get going before the rain hit, as Roberto Perez and Daniel Robertson, two guys not many fear in the Indians lineup, each got two-run doubles to get the team going, and then the pitching did the rest.
“It’s one game but we needed to bounce back from yesterday and we did,” Indians manager Terry Francona said. “I thought it was important — just the way we played was much better.”
The team was focused, didn’t allow the rain to affect the way they continued to play after the two-hour delay, and they just have to start stringing good stretches of games together.
It looked like last week they were on the verge of that with winning three of four against the A’s, but then they went right back to their old ways in the first two games of this road trip.
The hope now is they take that momentum to Colorado to take on the Rockies for two days.
