The Cleveland Cavaliers are now 4-18 since 2014 when LeBron James does not play, as they fell to the Detroit Pistons 106-90 on Monday night.
It was the second night of a back-to-back and playing on the road against a young, well-rested team gave the Pistons plenty of reason to take advantage of catching the Cavs at a fortunate part of the schedule.
Last week, Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue joked that when he rested LeBron, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love on the road at Memphis, it was basically a “forfeit.”
Perhaps Lue felt the same way after this most recent loss.
The Cavs fall to 23-7 with the loss, while Detroit (15-18), led by 21 points from Tobias Harris and 17 rebounds from Andre Drummond, snap a five-game skid.
The Cavs return to Cleveland for a Thursday night clash with the Celtics (18-13).
