The Cavaliers live to fight another day, thanks to an inspired performance from their two best players, who combined for 82 points to win Game 5 112-97 on the road at Golden State.
It was a back and forth first half, as Klay Thompson led Golden State with 26 points heading into halftime, while LeBron James put up 25.
Kyrie Irving pitched in with 18 points in the half and Steph Curry scored 13.
Thompson hit six of the Warriors’ 11 three-pointers in the half.
Both sides headed to the locker room deadlocked at 61.
Irving came out aggressive in the third quarter, scoring 11 points in the first seven minutes of the second half.
LeBron took it from there, scoring 11 of his own in the quarter to help the Cavs take a 93-84 lead into the fourth.
Both sides fought hard in the final 12 minutes, but Irving and LeBron delivered one clutch shot after another, holding off the Warriors to hang on and win 112-97.
LeBron scored 41 and grabbed 16 boards. He also dished out seven assists.
Irving put up his third-straight 30-point performance, finishing with 41. He also dished out six assists.
It was the highest-scoring game for LeBron in the 2016 Playoffs and a playoff career-high for Irving.
It was the first time in NBA Finals history that two teammates scored 40 or more in the same game.
Tristan Thompson played a phenomenal game, hauling in 15 rebounds.
The other Thompson scored 37, but it wasn’t enough.
Curry finished with 25.
Game 6 is Thursday night in Cleveland.
