On Tuesday, LeBron James was named the most popular player by the league’s incoming NBA rookies.
NBA.com released the results of the annual poll of the league’s newcomers, 39 rookies were interviewed for this survey.
When the Rookie Class of 2017 were asked who their favorite player is, James received 31.5 percent of the votes in front of Oklahoma City Thunder guard and reigning NBA MVP Russell Westbrook.
Fellow Cavalier Kyrie Irving received 3.7 percent of the votes and finished eighth in the voting.
This is only the second time that James has been voted as the NBA’s most popular player, last time James’ won this poll was in 2012.
Warriors forward Kevin Durant won this poll the past three years but this time finished tied for fifth and received 5.7 percent of the vote.
Warriors guard Steph Curry did not receive a single vote.
