3. The end of a grueling road trip
Perhaps the most important aspect of Saturday’s game is the fact that the Cavs’ six-game road trip could not come to an end soon enough. They end the trip 3-3 which isn’t terrible when you consider the fact that they were down six players against Chicago.
Head coach Tyronn Lue also exited the game after halftime with an undisclosed illness. It was the third time this season that Lue has missed part or all of a game with an illness. The first instance was when he missed the Dec. 21 game against the Bulls (Cavs won, 115-112). The second came on Feb. 6 when he didn’t return for the second half against the Orlando Magic (Cavs lost, 116-98).
Not counting Kyle Korver, who missed Saturday’s game due to a personal matter, the Cavs are down five players, three of whom (Larry Nance Jr., Rodney Hood and Cedi Osman) went down with injuries during the road trip.
A three game homestand this upcoming week is coming at exactly the right time.
