Whoever said the regular season didn’t matter must not have told Paul George heading into April 2nd’s showdown with LeBron James and the Cavs.
The Cavs came away with a hard-earned 135-130 victory and had to fight down to the closing seconds of double overtime.
It was an epic game and if you missed it, check out these highlights:

The Indiana Pacers are fighting for playoff survival and George put the team on his back for much of the night, scoring a game-high 43 points with nine rebounds and nine assists.
George hit one clutch shot after another to keep the game alive, but in the end, LeBron’s 41 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists helped lead the Cavs over the hurdle.
Throughout the game, different role players stepped up for both sides, as C.J. Miles scored 27 points off the bench and J.R. Smith drained six three-pointers, his best game since his return from a broken thumb.
He hit one of the biggest shots of the game with 2.8 seconds left in OT to send Quicken Loans Arena into a frenzy.

Kevin Love came up big after that, as the power forward scored 20 points on the night (12 of which came in the second overtime period) and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Thompson and LeBron were clearly arguing about a defensive lapse late in the second overtime with less than 30 seconds to go, but head coach Tyronn Lue and LeBron both tried to downplay the disagreement after the game.

When asked who deserved the blame for the defensive lapse, Lue joked, “It was me… Blame it on me.”

James told reporters he apologized to Thompson after the game.
LeBron played a season-high 52 minutes. Kyrie Irving scored 23 points in 46 minutes. Thompson and Smith both played more than 40 minutes, as well.
Don’t be surprised if one, two or three of the Big Three get the night off Tuesday, when Cleveland hosts the Orlando Magic.
