Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com reported Friday that LeBron James did not arrive in New Orleans for Day 1 of the NBA All-Star Weekend festivities.
A spokesman for James said “everything is fine” with the 32-year-old Cavs superstar, that there was just a family obligation scheduled he chose to attend. James was also slated to do an NBA Cares event Friday. He flew 23 Akron high school students here to rebuild homes in neighborhoods ravaged by blight and last week’s tornado.

While James could not attend the day of media circuits, Kyrie Irving has been out and about in New Orleans ever since he arrived Thursday. James will join Irving in New Orleans Saturday.
