LeBron James Announces Partnership With University of Akron: The “I Promise” Program

LeBron James added another program to his charity, the LeBron James Family Foundation, partnering with the University of Akron to form the “I Promise” program.

Kids who graduate high school from Akron Public Schools will be eligible to earn a full scholarship to Akron.

They also must meet other criteria, including certain standardized test scores and fulfill a community service requirement.

LeBron’s legacy off the court continues to grow. Speaking about his charitable work with students and education after Wednesday’s practice, LeBron said, “My foundation is – other than family – the number one thing in my life.”
