Lake County Wins Pitching Duel with Bowling Green in 1-0 Victory: Three Takeaways From the Win

3. A Big Night with the Glove

In a 1-0 game there’s usually a couple plays that stick out, and the Captains seemed to make all of those plays Monday night with the glove in the field.

From Luke Wakamatsu’s huge stop at short and throw out at first, to a couple nice ground ball scoops by Emmanuel Tapia, it was a great night for the gloves for Lake County.

“Can’t say enough, it was awesome,” Captains starter Micah Miniard said after the win.

In winning six of their first 11 games, the defense has been one thing for Larry Day’s team that has been solid from the start, and Monday again that part of their game was top notch.

The Captains and Hot Rods will do battle again on Tuesday night at 6:30pm. Indians 2016 third-round pick Aaron Civale gets the start for the Captains.
