2.) Aaron Civale was outstanding through 6 innings
Lake County Captains starting pitcher Aaron Civale had a fantastic start for the Captains.
Civale had 6 innings pitched, gave up 4 hits, 1 walk, and 5 strikeouts. Civale went into the game with a earned run average of 2.61 and came out of the game with a 1.65 ERA.
This was Civale’s third straight quality start for the Captains but earned his first victory of the season tonight. Larry
Larry Day had this to say about Civale’s pitching performance:
“He had a great start. Civale pounds the strike zone and forces contact. He also works with great pace and because of that the infielders behind him are awake and aware and ready to make a play behind him.”
Civale is ranked #21 out of the Indians Top 30 Prospect. Aaron Civale is a right-handed pitcher out of Northwestern and was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 2016 MLB Draft as a 3rd round pick.
