Eastlake – The Lake County Captains got their final homestand of the 2023 season off to a good start on Tuesday night.
Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth, Khalil Watson got the game winning RBI on a sacrifice fly to give the Captains a 3-2 victory.
The Lansing Lugnuts scored first with one run in the top of the fourth.
But the Captains came right back with a run of their own in the bottom of the fourth when Yordys Valdez drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.

The Captains would score all their runs for the game on sacrifice flies.
The Captains scored their second run of the game in the bottom of the seventh when Guardians fourth ranked top prospect Chase DeLauter drove in a run with a sacrifice fly to give the Captains a 2-1 lead.

The Lugnuts tied up the game at 2-2 in the top of the ninth inning.
In the bottom of the ninth, the first two batters walked to give the Captains runners on first and second with no outs. After the Captains third batter lined out, Chase DeLauter was intentionally walked.
Kahlil Watson, the Guardians 16th ranked prospect, then hit a walk off sacrifice fly to give the Captains a 3-2 victory.

The Captains return to the diamond for an early afternoon game on Wednesday at Classic Park.
The first pitch is scheduled for 12:05pm.
