It was a great night for the Licking Heights Lady Hornets basketball team as they played very well against the Lakewood Lancers and won, going away 64-38. From the opening tip, Licking Heights was on the go pushing the tempo while playing outstanding defense to gain the lead 13-3 by the end of the 1st quarter. They continued firing on all cylinders going into the 2nd quarter to race to a 21-3 lead. By the close of the half, the Lady Hornets were up 33-15.
The team continued to pour it on into the 3rd quarter as they outscored Lakewood 17-6 and led 50-21 rolling into the 4th quarter.
Besides that, tenacious defense, the Lady Hornets got a very balanced attack on the offensive side of the ball. Layla Booth and Kendyl Hunt each knocked in 15 points. Karsyn Johnson added 14 points. Emily McCord went for 8 points while Symya McDougall scored 7 points. Rounding out the scoring was Evelyn Caruso with 4 points and Janessa Hughes with 1 point.
The team will now host the Licking Valley team on Tuesday, December 12th.
