Cavaliers Head Coach David Blatt told reporters in Orlando Sunday that point guard Kyrie Irving will not play Tuesday at Boston.
According to a report from Northeast Ohio Media Group’s Chris Haynes, Blatt told reporters, “We’ve still got some things that we want to go through with him before we let him get back out there, but he is looking good and feeling good.”
The Cavs return home Thursday to take on Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and the Oklahoma City Thunder in a primetime matchup on TNT. We are 12 days away from the rematch of the 2015 Finals, when the Cavs take on the Warriors on Christmas Day.
Irving has not played since Game 1 of the NBA Finals against Golden State and has been working hard since then to rehab and get ready for another championship run.
Check out the new Nike video that documents Irving’s work and recovery, as he gets ready to come back to Cleveland.
The really cool part starts at the 2:40 minute-mark. *YouTube took it down, but here’s another place to watch it*
