As first reported by Cleveland.com, the Cleveland Cavaliers planned on having a tribute video to honor new Celtics guard Kyrie Irving for all he had done for the city while playing for the Cavs. That was not the case come Tuesday night.
Instead, the video was nixed after it was planned to be played during the first TV timeout of the Cavs/Celtics game. The rumor was that Cavs players were unhappy with there even being a tribute video for Irving.
Was told Kyrie Irving video was supposed to be shown during first TV timeout in the 1st quarter – didn't do it and was nixed

Cavs will not run Kyrie Irving tribute video tonight. It was a floating moment and team says that moment never presented itself

The video never played, but the Cavs and Irving did embrace following Irving’s failed three-point attempt to tie the game at the buzzer.

The two sides provided a moment that many fans did not see coming following everything that had happened during the off-season.
