On Wednesday night Jordan Schultz of Yahoo Sports reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers are seriously considering Koby Altman to fill the vacant General Manager position in the organization according to league sources.
If Altman does become the new Cavaliers GM, Altman would be the youngest GM at 34 years old. Altman was groomed by former Cavs GM David Griffin.
Altman is expected to either be the favorite or one of the favorites for the position. The Cavs have been impressed with Altman with his duties of being the interim general manager.
Koby Altman has been in the Cavaliers organization since August 2012. When Griffin maintained the GM position, Altman was the assistant GM.
Before Altman joined the Cavs organization, Altman was an assistant coach at Columbia University for two seasons and he led Columbia’s developmental basketball program.
Lastly, Altman has experience with the USA Basketball program. Altman was the team manager for USA Basketball’s Under-17 team and won the first gold medal in that age bracket.
In 2009 he also assisted Team USA’s 19 and under team in which he also won gold (first gold medal since 1991 in that age bracket).

Altman, I'm told, is either the favorite or one of the favorites for the #Cavs GM role. Has been very impressive running the interim point. https://t.co/nJJOWpLnHr
