Kluber Back In a Big Way, Indians Dominate A’s 8-0; Three Takeaways From the Win

3. Salazar Out of the Pen

Danny Salazar finally got into a game out of the pen, and for the most part was effective despite allowing a hit as he preserved the shoutout with a scoreless 9th inning.

Indians manager Terry Francona said that Salazar was aggressive, and getting him into a game in that situation was about as perfect as it comes, as the game is basically out of reach and Salazar can just reach back and pitch.

Don’t look for Salazar to be in the pen too long, as there’s no doubt that Francona wants this to be a situation where he can get right and then get back to being a starter again.

Expect the Indians to keep him in situations where he can be successful, and hopefully regain his confidence and then make a solid return to the rotation.
