2. A Much Needed Four-Game Feast
We’ve discussed more than once that the Oakland A’s are a team going nowhere fast, but it was nice to see the Indians do what they should against a bad team, that is win three of four.
Sure it would have been nice to get the sweep, but it’s understandable and tough to get a four-game sweep over any team, even one like the A’s.
The Tribe in the four games scored a total of 23 runs in the four games on 32 hits, holding the A’s to 10 runs. Oakland also struck out a whopping 56 times in the four games.
Oakland’s defense is another topic all together, as they can simply be described in one word – awful.
They are far and away the worst in baseball with 54 errors in 53 games, with three more coming on Thursday.
The one that best describes how bad the A’s are came when Mark Canha pulled the little league move, running right past the ball on a Michael Brantley single.
To say they are the ‘Bad News Bears’ of baseball is an understatement.
