1. KluBot Back with a Vengeance
Corey Kluber didn’t look like he missed a beat during his month away from pitching, as against an Oakland team that is as free swinging as they come, he struck out 10 in six innings of work.
He allowed just two hits, no runs, and walked just one in throwing 77 pitches. Not bad for a guy who had not pitched for a few weeks.
Kluber did escape one threat in the 3rd inning, but with runners on first and third with two outs he struck out Mark Canha to end the only time Oakland did much against him.
The time away looked like it did Kluber good, as he lowered his ERA from 5.06 to 4.36, and it appeared he did it with relative ease.
Kluber had 24 swinging strikes of his 51 total on Thursday in the victory.
The Indians pitcher won’t pitch in Colorado which is wise so he doesn’t have to bat, but his 26th lifetime double digit strikeout offering was a great return to the mound for the Tribe hurler.
